How can I join or form a TBF club?

To join a TBF club, email your state Federation here to find the closest club to you. To learn how to form a TBF club, fill out our online form.

I am a young angler do you have anything for me?

Yes, TBF has a massive Youth program. You can join a TBF Junior club, start a TBF Student Anglers Club in your local school or if you are at the college level, we have the Association of College Anglers TBF Federation. There is something for everyone. Check out our Youth Pages.

I am concerned about my local lakes and rivers, access to them is getting more and more difficult and I am worried that if we do not better support and take care of our fisheries the next generation of anglers won’t have the opportunities to go fishing. Does TBF have any group I can get involved with to help?

Yes, each state Federation has a conservation program as does TBF National, each year we award grants to be used at the local level. Our federations lobby for bills and laws that support recreational fishing and sensible management of our natural resources. TBF has a National Conservation Manager who helps manage the conservation program. TBF is not a left wing group or radical environmentalists. We recognize that sensible and practical conservation is our future and all the different needs have to be balanced. Go to our conservation section and see what we are doing to support conservation.

Do you have to be in a TBF club to be a TBF member?

Yes and no. Anyone can be a Premium Member. However, you must be a member of the state TBF organization (State Federation) to be able to fish their events. To find a TBF club near you to join, email your state Federation here. To learn how to form a TBF club, visit the Join page.

Is the TBF a tournament trail? Are there opportunities to advance into big tournaments or even fish professionally?

TBF is much more than a tournament trail. Our founding principals are Fishing, Youth and Conservation, On the fishing side, TBF members qualify through their club events and state Federation events to fish in the TBF Division Championship series, and then on to the TBF Federation National Championship, the BFL All-American and the 2 million dollar Forrest Wood Cup World Championship. In addition to all this, the top Federation angler each year is awarded the TBF “Living the Dream” package. It consists of paid entry fees into choice of either the FLW Tour or the FLW Series as a professional angler, use of a wrapped “Living the Dream” Ranger Boat and Chevrolet truck as well as some expense money!

Is The Bass Federation (TBF) owned by FLW Outdoors?

No, FLW is our major partner. TBF is owned by the state Federations.

Is The Bass Federation (TBF) affiliated with ESPN-owned BASS?

No, TBF is not affiliated with the ESPN or B.A.S.S. organizations.

Do you have to be an FLW Outdoors member to be a TBF member?

Yes, and the benefits are huge! FLW Outdoors is a great partner for TBF and provides many benefits. NOTE: TBF members must join FLW Outdoors with a standard Competitor Membership of $35. Subscription-level $15.00 (Magazine only) does not make you eligible to compete in TBF or FLW Outdoors events. TBF Premium Membership INCLUDES FLW Outdoors membership as well. The FLW Membership does include the magazine subscription, as well as FLW Fantasy Fishing’s, players advantage where you can win one of thousands of prizes playing Fantasy Fishing. It is a load of fun and top prize for each event is $100,000.00 CASH and top prize for the year is a cool $1 MILLION Dollars.
