Klausen Wins Central Division Event at Truman Lake

Pat Klausen NEPat Klausen was the only angler able to bring a limit of bass to the scales on each of the three days of competition in the Truman Lake Central Divisional. His reward, 35-04 pounds and a berth into the 2017 TBF Federation National Championship.  Pat’s  limits consisted of 13-02, 11-08 and 10-10 pounds.  The Nebraska angler said he caught his fish on jigs in 8-10 feet of water on the first day and then had to fish to swim jigs, as the fish suspended, for the last two days.

Arkansas angler, Doug Thompson finishes in second with 31.10 pounds.  His catches consisted of 10-06, 13-01 and 8-03 pounds.  Doug Thompson AR

Third place went to Evan Barnes from Arkansas with a final weight of 30-11 pounds.  Fourth place was taken by Dean Matts of Oklahoma with 29-05 pounds.  Rounding out the top five places was Kent Priel of Nebraka with 29-04 pounds.  Most of the top five anglers said most of their fish came on topwater baits, shakey heads and big ten inch power worms.

Mississippi angler, Brad Jernigan took Day 3 Big Bass honors with a nice 5-07 lunker.  The state anglers from Arkansas put together a solid Day 3 performance and vaulted to the top of the leader board for the state to state competition.  They edged out the state of Nebraska by just over two pounds to take top honors is the state event.
