March 12, 2011 – Tyler Lambert and Christopher Conlon of Sarasota Military Academy caught a limit of bass weighing 13.17 lbs in the first ever Florida High School Fishing State Championship held on Lake Toho on Saturday. Winning the State Championship advances this team to an FLW Outdoors/TBF High School Fishing Regional Championship held in conjunction with a National Guard FLW College Fishing Regional Championship hosted on a college campus this fall. Ranger boats will be provided for the high school anglers to fish from at the regional championship. The winners from each regional will advance to the FLW Outdoors/TBF High School Fishing National Championship held on a college campus in conjunction with the National Guard FLW College Fishing National Championship in the spring of 2012. Lambert & Conlon will also receive a travel allowance to help offset expenses when traveling to the tournament. Ponca City, Okla. (March 14, 2011) – The Bass Federation (TBF), in partnership with FLW Outdoors, announced it will be hosting the inaugural Student Angler Federation Texas High School Fishing State Championship, May 21 at Lake Lavon, just outside of Allen, Texas. The state championship is a two person team event for students in grades 9 -12. Registration for high school anglers and their “coach,” who will provide the boat they compete in, is online at HighSchoolFishing.org or by calling 580.765.9031. Check-in begins at 4:30pm on Friday, May 20 at the brand new Cabela’s Retail store U.S. Highway 75 at the Stacy Road exit in Allen, Texas, with a mandatory rules briefing at 6:30pm. PONCA CITY, Okla. (Feb. 26, 2011) – Inaugural TBF High School Fishing State Championship Kicks Off with a Bang in Louisiana; Kimbrough, McClure Seize Titles
The Bass Federation’s Student Angler Federation, (SAF), and FLW Outdoors kicked off the 2011 SAF High School State Championship series today with the Louisiana High School Fishing State Championship on Caddo Lake near Bossier City, La. High school anglers converged on Caddo Parrish to showcase their skills and vie for the titles of High School State Champions, sponsor merchandise and esteemed bragging rights among high school fishing’s elite. The champions advance to the FLW/TBF High School Fishing Regional Championship to be held this fall, which includes travel stipends, use of a Ranger boat, and State Champion Jerseys. The race was tight, with just ounces hailing one team triumphant.
James P Kimbrough and Kyle Stephen McClure from Benton High School Bass Club came out on top with a five bass limit weighing 14lb.
