OCTOBER 6, 2012—RED WING, MN—Brian Korfmacher and Todd Brunson rode a pair of massive baskets to victory at the Cabela’s North American Bass Circuit’s 2012 World Bass Championship, held on the mighty Mississippi River Oct. 5-6 at Red Wing, Minnesota.

Their 34.39-pound, 10-fish NABC limit of beefy bronzebacks earned them a $20,000 first-place check in the two-day event, along with a $1,000 Cabela’s gift card through the Cabela’s Angler Cash program, $250 PRADCO baits package for being the highest-finishing team using Bomber, Booyah, XCalibur and YUM products, $500 in cash from the Big Bass Pot, plus a prize package of Rapala, Trigger X and Sufix baits and line. Polfer and Lane Win TBF Dream Team Rally on CJ Strike

Ponca City, Okla. (October 2, 2012) — The Bass Federation’s brand new Dream Team tournament trail is excited to announce Josh Polfer and K.C. Lane won the IBM Dream Team Rally hosted by the Idaho Bass Federation.  The event was held September 22 on CJ Strike Reservoir in Mountain Home, Id.  “The weather conditions were perfect,” IBM Dream Team Event Coordinator, Steve Spear, said.  “C.J. Budget Law Will Freeze Sport Fish Restoration Fund

Unprecedented move will impact economy and fisheries conservation

Alexandria, VA – September 24, 2012– On September 14, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) released its recommendations for budget cuts that include withholding parts of the Sport Fish Restoration and Boating Trust Fund, a move that would have a significant impact on fisheries conservation and the jobs it supports. OMB’s action was triggered by the failure of the Congress and the Administration to enact a plan to reduce the deficit by $1.2 trillion, as required by the Budget Control Act of 2011. Rodriguez and Delaware Sweep Mid-Atlantic Division to Earn Championship Titles

Rodriguez and the Delaware state team have led it from start to finish at the 2012 Mid-Atlantic Division Championship presented by Lowrance on the Potomac River.  Two days ago, 84 TBF anglers launched out of Small Wood State Park in Marbury, Md., with hopes of becoming this year’s Mid-Atlantic Division Champions.  But, for most, the goal was earning a piece of the pie, a slot at the 2013 Federation National Championship.  14 TBF anglers advanced today.  They will meet next spring at the national event to compete for their share of over $200,000 in cash and prizes and the “Living the Dream” prize package.

Dan Rodriguez from Monkton, Md., had a five bass limit weighing 12lbs 5ounces making his tournament total 40lbs 10ounces.  “I started off in low water working my homemade jig with a red havoc pitboss as a trailer,” Rodriguez said.    “The crawfish had a lot of red in their claws, and so I put on that red trailer and worked with it.”  Rodriguez has fished with the homemade jig for 10 years, and this year it’s won him back to back tournaments out of the Chesapeake Bay and now the division championship.  “It has a lifelike fall; when it lifts up off the bottom it just glides like a crawfish.  I’m telling you it’s a deadly jig.” Continue reading
